Okay so here’s the thing—I used to be all in. I’m talking “bought the entire box set before finishing chapter one” levels of commitment. I loved long fantasy series. The maps, the lore, the slow-burn arcs that took four books to pay off? Inject it directly into my bloodstream. But lately? I can’t do it. I open a book and see “Book One of Twelve” and immediately feel like I’ve just been asked to train for a marathon when I was really just hoping for a quick walk around the block.
